Tranquility
The Tranquility product from Mountain Peaks that many of you know and love is back on the shelf in a new improved form! This product has been incredibly helpful for calming the nervous system to aid with anxiety and sleep disturbance. Please let us know if you would like to set aside a bottle for you.
CASTOR OIL PACKS
I am excited to announce that I am now carrying two new products in my office that will allow you to do topical Castor Oil Pack treatments easily at home!
Castor Oil Packs are a traditional Naturopathic therapy which have been used since the late 1800’s to aid in elimination, detoxification and to reduce inflammation. Castor Oil itself has also been used for healing purposes since 4,000 B.C. in ancient Egypt, India and China.
I recommend Castor Oil Packs for those with Constipation, Uterine Fibroids, Ovarian Cysts, Endometriosis, Headaches, Gallbladder Inflammation, Intestinal Disorders, Inflamed Joints and for Detoxification support.
The products now available in my office are Organic Cold-Pressed Hexane-Free Castor Oil in Glass Bottles in addition to an Organic Cotton Sherpa Flannel Compress lined with Non-Toxic Solvent Free Polyurethane that can be secured around the abdomen or other body part to be treated. The compress can be used repeatedly for treatments and can be washed, reducing waste and mess. I often recommend applying the compress before bed and sleeping with it on, allowing the healing work to be done while you sleep!
Please contact us for more information about this amazing healing treatment!
November Office Schedule
I will be out of the office from November 25th to December 1st. The office will re-open on December 2nd at 8:30 am. If you would like to see me before I leave or need an item such as a custom herbal formula, please let us know as soon as possible. Keep in mind that most supplements can be refilled via my online store.
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
BONE HEALTH RECIPES
Nettle Tea
Nettle leaf tea is rich in all of the nutrients needed for bone health including calcium, magnesium, iron, trace minerals, potassium, zinc, copper, boron, vitamin Bs, vitamin C and vitamins A, D and K. For bone health, I recommend drinking 1/2 cup daily.
1 oz. dried nettle stalks and leaves
1 qt. boiling water
Fill a mason jar with the dried nettle, then fill the jar with the boiling water. Cover and brew overnight. The next day, strain out the plant material and refrigerate the tea.
Bone-Building Vinegar
I recommend using at least a tablespoon of this vinegar daily on any foods, especially leafy greens. Just one tablespoon of the vinegar can contain up to 400 mg of calcium!
Fill a jar with any five fresh or dried well-snipped herbs which can include dandelion leaves, stinging nettle, horsetail, red clover, motherwort, mugwort, mint, chickweed, shepard’s purse, oatstraw, alfalfa, parsley, comfrey, raspberry and blackberry leaves, sage, amaranth leaves, kale, cabbage. Pour in apple cider vinegar to cover the herbs. Seal and label the jar with the date. Put the jar in a dark cupboard well away from any light. Let it sit for 6 weeks, then use.
Both of these recipes are from “The Healthy Bones Nutrition Plan and Cookbook” by Dr. Laura Kelly.
