Spring Allergy Season Solutions

Hello Everyone,
With the mild weather that we are experiencing in the West this winter, spring allergy season is unexpectedly upon us causing itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, breathing difficulties, brain fog and fatigue.
Allergies happen when the immune system reacts to something in the environment as if it were a harmful pathogen, even though it might be something completely benign, like tree pollen.  This causes inflammation and the characteristic allergy symptoms.

Natural ways to address allergies include:

1.  Balancing your immune system by improving gut health.  Eat a clean diet (avoid processed foods, white flour products, sugar, fried foods, alcohol) and include naturally fermented foods such as saurkraut, kimchi, miso and kombucha which are sources of probiotics.  Probiotics balance the immune system, reducing over-reactivity to normal things in our environment.
2.  Eat local honey or bee pollen which contain tiny amounts of local plant pollens, teaching your immune system by exposing it to small amounts of the allergen daily so that it doesn’t over-react when it encounters larger amounts of the allergen.
3.  Drink Nettle leaf tea.  Nettle leaf is a natural anti-histamine and also rich in nutritional minerals.
4.  Take Vitamin C and Quercetin.  These are natural anti-histamines.
5.  Take Aller Dx.  This is a favorite fast acting Chinese herbal formula for allergy symptoms.
6.  Try Southwest Allersode.  A liquid homeopathic remedy made with tiny amounts of local Southwest allergens to reduce your sensitivity to those items.
7.  Do a cleanse.  Contact us to get started with our Two Week Spring Cleanse consisting of clean recipes, a special detox protein powder and a probiotic.
